No, I don't think so, nope not that one either. UHHH what kind of message is that one sending? Haven't you and daddy talked about the kind of girls who wear such things? I this is what I had to say to my oldest over and over last night because there were not any costumes that seemed nice. I am not talking about too scary or ugly. I am talking about that it is apparently okay for 7-18 year old to dress like hoochy mama's, like they are street walkers. Before you say no its not then why is that what the costume stores are selling. If it appalled more than a few you would think something would change. I really felt bad as she was almost in tear because we did not buy on for her last night.

You know the old proverb, spare the rod spoil the child? Have you ever thought the bible really doesn't mean for you to spank your child....Well then does the bible mean there is only one way to heaven?
If you travel through Proverbs, God uses to terms when it comes to your children, a rod and discipline. You can use them both together or one at a time. Discipline comes from the Latin word discipulus which means student. Your children are you students and you are to train them. Sometimes training a child is very tiresome. Sometimes, you think will they ever get it. Sometimes discipline is painful for all parties at hand. Yes even though you have may given the spanking it still hurts you too. Many will argue it is child abuse to spank a child. I personally think it is child abuse not to. In life are there not painful consequences for some of the choices you make? What about standing in the middle of the street? If a cars are coming and you do not move, do you not get hit? If you choose to use drugs, can you not ruin your life?
If your child constantly lies or is willfully disobedient would it be better to again explain your displeasure in their choices or show them the same displeasure. Are you creating future abusers hardly! If your punishment is out of love and not anger. You are not going to harm but correct.
But spanking doesn't always work. No it doesn't always work and sometimes there is a better punishment for the crime or child. Some children only respond to spankings others might laugh at you (which cause a chain reaction in anger so better not to go there). Sometimes removing a treasure or removing them from everyone else works better.
The whole purpose in this really is a reminder. That some seasons are going to be really hard. Where you are worn down and think I give up one you and I am tired of spanking you!!!! Hang in there this to shall pass. They will grow and still love you. The best thing to remember if you set out the rules and punishments before hand don't forget to follow through. Threats with no follow through will ruin your child and they will push you and push you until you've been pushed far enough. If it is known you mean what you say it is better for all around.

How oh how do you discipline with a straight face? That is the question when your children do something or say something that is truly funny, and you want to laugh or smile how do you keep your composure and instruct, them what they did was not acceptable? Want to know the example? My dear son said and I quote "I do not like Pebutter and Jelly it BM's on me." So I turn away slowly and giggle to my self then look at him and tell him eat it anyways. Ah, the joy's of motherhood.

How much time do you have? Do you find yourself saying not right now, I am busy? Or thinking I wish school would start already, so I can think? Or I just need a break from these people for a minute, they are driving me nuts!!!? My question for you today my friend is, how much time do you really have? How long are these children yours for? Are they really yours or are they God's. Do really cherish each and every moment with them? I know this can be hard at times, when they are fighting, or under your feet all day, or you can not even use the bathroom by yourself, in fact why even shut the bathroom door. Do you thank God every day for them? There was a time when, I could not wait for them to get out of my hair for a while, or think good, school has started. But, now when they are gone for more than a couple hours of the day, I find myself thinking now what am I going to do? Sheesh when are they coming home. I could not imagine being without them. Life is so short, and your time with your loved ones is shorter. Enjoy today, love them longer, stop for a second and watch them play or play with them. Those are the things they will remember for the rest of their life.
I once heard a wise mother say don't pray for patients because then your patients will be tested. How true is that? I dare you to find out.
I have posted one of my most favorite verses on the refrigerator. How perfect is that for motherhood?
Oh Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning...Isaiah 33:2
- One it reminds me of where my grace comes from, and I should also be graceful to those around me.
- Two, I truly long for the Lord, and long to please him, the only way I can do this is through Christ.
- Three, It reminds me where my strength comes from, every moment of every day. Even the ones when you can not figure out whether to laugh or cry.
More favorite verse:
Oh, my to rise to the challenge to have her children rise and call her blessedHer children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Proverbs 31:2
God's word is has lots of precious treasures waiting to be found!
What does motherhood look like exactly?
Does she look like June Clever, Sarah Palin, Gretchen Wilson's Red Neck Women, Faith Hill, Martha Stewart, Mary mother of Jesus, Your neighbor, the mom down the street, the one at church, you know who does it all? Where do you find your best advice from? Have you read every book out there on how too, yet still feel like your failing miserably? Do have any idea what you are doing daily?
The great news is that none of these women are perfect or have it down pact. In fact no, mom does. Usually the more you get to know someone the more you realize this is true. What a relief, no one has it together or is perfect. There is always room for improvement. I know when I feel like I am failing miserably, if I seek God I find the truth. He is the only perfect parent with the only perfect child, so if you are not God and your child is not Jesus, hang on some days are going to be tough. Most days, when I truly seek God with all my heart He, gives the best parenting advice ever.
